A wealth of social-psychological research points to the importance of social belonging and growth mindset in reducing equity gaps in achievement in STEM classrooms. The Student Experience Project is a collaboration of 6 universities, researchers and national education organizations committed to building equitable learning environments. This workshop will provide practical and tested ways developed by the Student Experience Project to increase growth mindset and social belonging in introductory chemistry classes.
